Before his re-election, governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state was seen as one who rode on the back of his predecessor to power, and as such, considered as a paperweight politician who did not possess the capacity to win election on his own. But having put cynics in the wrong after the 2017 gubernatorial polls with a landslide victory, Obiano has gone ahead to perform above the expectations of his supporters and non supporters alike.

In the past four years of his administration, Obiano has been commended for the security in the state, improvement in agriculture, roads and other social infrastructure among others. The governor has also been praised for looking after the welfare of the state workforce. Under him, the workers enjoy enhanced remuneration and regular payment of their benefits.

For the average Nigerian politician, winning re-election for a second term means you have been given the opportunity to recover monies spent on electioneering, but not for Willie Obiano, who has faithfully stuck to offering quality governance to Ndi Anambra.

Upon assuming office for his second tenure, the governor declared, "I know we worked hard in my first term but we will work harder in this second term". As a matter of fact, the government is clearly living out its words.

Recently, on 23rd and 24th of April 2018, Obiano took his "Aku Luo Uno" message to Ndi Anambra in America and other interested investors. The Submit which was held in Chicago Illinois, USA rose with an estimated investment worth over $100m from Bill Sample, Travel Chips, Monsanto Centre, USA. This strategic move have the capacity of making Anambra state self sufficient in Maize, Soya bean, Cat fish, Tilapia productions and processing in large scale.

Furthermore, Anambra state is publicly acclaimed as the safest state in Nigeria, thanks to the brilliant reforms of governor Willie Obiano in the security institutions across the state and the collaborative efforts of Ndi Anambra. With this high profile recognition, the state is a safe sanctuary for investors and citizens living in Anambra to carryout their daily businesses unperturbed.

Maintaining the thrilling reforms in the education sector, Anambra state have maintained top positions in National examinations like WAEC, NECO, JAMB, etc.
This was clearly highlighted when 5 intelligent girls from Regina Pacies Secondary School, Onitsha, led by Uchenna Onwuamaegbu Ugwu, recently placed Africa, Nigeria and Anambra state on the global technological map, by defeating 115 countries to win the 2018 Technovation World Pitch in Silicon Valley, California, USA.

Anambra State takes the lead in Youth development and empowerment. Through youth inclusiveness in governance of Africa's most youth friendly Governor, His Excellency Chief. Dr. Willie Obiano, Anambra state presented 5, out of the 22 delegates who represented Nigeria in the recently concluded Obama's Leadership Forum which held in South Africa.

The youngest commissioner in Nigeria, Hon Mark Okoye, the Commissioner for Economic Planning, Budget Development and Donor Agencies, and Uchenna Onwuamaegbu Ugwu, the brilliant woman who led the team of 5 girls to victory at the Technovation World Pitch in Silicon Valley, California, were among the delegates that represented Nigeria in the Obama Leadership Forum.

Through several strokes of genuine demonstration of awareness of events and happenings in the state, the governor had recently visited and condoled with victims of flash floodings across the state. He defied the fanfare set up by party faithfuls and stakeholders at the school fields and halls and went straight to the bereaved families' homes, sat down with them, inquired first-hand what happened and condoled with them over their loss; a perfect example of giving governance a human face.

Indeed, in the first four months of governor Obiano's second term in office, the good people of Anambra State have continued to reap the benefit of the choice they made in voting him to serve and pilot their affairs.

The good people of Anambra rejoices and commends the working governor to keep up with his good and impacting works across the state, and like Oliver twist, they are equally demanding for more from the  government.
