Willie Obiano Inaugurates Power Supply Committee.
The eight man committee which were drawn from experts in the power sector has as its Chairman, Engr Chike Okonkwo.
The governor, while inaugurating the committee in a brief ceremony at Governors Lodge Amawbia, charged them to lias with relevant agencies and persons in the power sector, which will see to enhanced power supply to persons and industries in the state.
Obiano further urged the committee to explore better ways of generating electricity through renewable energy, and amassing from the huge gas reserves in the state. The committee has a two year mandate to complete this task, and may be expanded as the case may be.
Members of the committee include:

Engr Patrick Okigbo, Secretary
Obi Nwankwo, Member
Engr Alex Amakom, Member
Barr Mrs Ucheebo, Member
Engr Chiatula George, Member
Engr Ugochukwu Ifediorah, Member
Engr Obi Onuchukwu, Member.
The governor in his closing remarks, informed the committee that, about 32 communities from Orumba North and Orumba South LGA's, were last year involved in the state's rural electrification project. And that they are connected to Orji river, 22 communities from Ihiala and environs, from Awada obosi substation.
In his appreciation remarks, the Chairman of the Committee, Engr Chike Okonkwo, expressed deep gratitude to the governor for finding him and other of the committee members worthy to serve in such capacity. He pledged the committees readiness to deliver on time, the mandate given to them.
