14,912 Yaba College of Technology students were matriculated on Thursday comprising National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) students admitted in the 2017/2018 academic session.
Yabatech rector, Mr Obafemi Omokungbe, according to him said that the figure equally comprised full-time and part-time students.
He said out of the 23,704 candidates who applied for admission into the college’s ND (Full Time) only 3,666 were offered admission.

The rector also said 3,871 candidates were given admission into the college’s HND (Full-Time) programme, adding that Yabatech offered admission to a total of 7,375 candidates for both ND/HND (Part-Time) programmes.
He said that students who would violate the rules of the college would be penalized as stipulated by the law.
He also reminded them that the institution has zero tolerance for examination malpractice and indecent dressing.
He ended his speech by advising the students to shun all forms of anti social behavior and activities such as cultism, drug abuse, examination malpractice, sexual misbehavior and other unruly behavior.
