4 INEC Staff, Corps Member, 3-Year-Old Baby Die in Kogi Road Accident November 2018

An accident which occurred at Ajaokuta-Lokoja Road on Saturday, reportedly claimed the lives of four INEC staff, a corps member and a 3-year-old baby.

The victims of the accident were returning in the evening from Ayingba, Kogi, where they attended the wedding ceremony of another INEC worker. It was gathered the late corps member was performing his primary assignment with INEC office in Lokoja, and the child belonged to one of the four INEC staff members.

The Director of Voter Education and Publicity at Kogi Office of INEC, Mr. Ahmed Biambo who confirmed the incident, said that the victims were from the Information and Communication Technology and Accounts departments of INEC. He further disclosed that the corpses have been deposited at the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja.
